In November 2016, Gloucester Cathedral unveiled the installation of 200 solar panels on their Grade 1 listed building. The energy generated from these solar panels will be sent to an air source heat pump, providing the power to heat a newly installed underfloor heating system. This is the first step as part of their Project Pilgrim, and Network members are invited for a site visit, followed by several presentations from other members on energy generation projects within historic buildings.
The event will run from 12.30-3.30pm, and lunch will be provided.
For those unable to access the roof, there is both timelapse footage and photography to demonstrate the project.
