In 2018, new regulations will come into force that will affect organisations with private rented property.

From 1 April 2018, all eligible domestic properties will have to meet a minimum energy efficiency standard before being let to new tenants. The minimum standard is ‘E’ on an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). After 1st April 2018, any properties below the minimum ‘E’ on an EPC must install those measures required to reach an ‘E’ before they can be rented out.

By 1st April 2020, all eligible domestic properties (with a valid Energy Performance Certificate) will have to meet the minimum energy efficiency standard (E on an EPC), not just those being re let. This also applies to non-domestic properties by 1st April 2023.

This event will look at the potential impact and implications of these new regulations on Network members. The National Trust will be presenting a case study with Parity Projects on their approach to the regulations so as to minimise any resulting costs or challenges. Stephen Ryman from the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) will also provide the latest policy updates and be available to answer questions from members.

The event will run from 12.00pm-4.30pm at the National Trust offices in Swindon, lunch and refreshments will be provided.
