Our Special Interest Groups are an opportunity to share learning, progress, challenges and questions with other members across the network who are on the same journey.

Climate change adaptation is increasingly important to our members as they grapple with how to understand the impacts of climate change on their assets, business operations and governance.

Imogen Sambrook, Heritage and Climate Consultant for the National Trust, will start the discussion by providing an overview of the challenges of identifying and developing tools and guidance that can support organisations in preparing for and adapting to climate-related hazards and impacts following a literature review into tools and methods that are already out there.

Imogen will follow up on this to look at the benefits and quick wins of slotting in adaptation awareness (a work in progress) into existing decision-making processes.

This special interest group is for members that are starting to work on climate change adaptation. Areas for discussion include (and are not limited to):

· How to start understanding climate change risks to your organisation

· The business case for adaptation projects

· How to embed climate change adaptation into organisational decision making

· How to communicate with and upskill all levels of an organisation

· How to start creating a climate change adaptation strategy

· How to identify and implement appropriate interventions

· ISO 14090 and other frameworks or standards

Any member is welcome to attend, regardless of previous experience or knowledge on this topic.
