Our Waste and Circular Economy Special Interest Group meeting brings members together to discuss a range of issues relating to waste and resource management, as we aim for our organisations to embrace a circular economy. Areas for discussion include (and are not limited to):

· Reduction and elimination of single-use plastics

· Hard-to-treat waste

· Zero waste to landfill ambitions

· Waste and behaviour change

· Waste contracts and contractors

· Waste in the supply chain

· Alternative materials

· Waste and net zero

· Government strategy/standards/consultations

Our Guest Speaker for this event is Tim Cross from Plymouth based Project Plan B www.projectplanb.co.uk. CEO Tim Cross is a spokesperson on sustainable textiles solutions for workwear, PPE and retail markets, and C19 has amplified that passion. Tim has 25 years of experience in garment manufacturing in both retail and corporate clothing industries. Project Plan B was created to design out waste and future proof brands from the mounting environmental concerns over unrecyclable clothing:

‘We believe that by redesigning the way we do things right from the beginning, we can significantly reduce environmental impact.’ –Tim Cross

Tim will be discussing how circular clothing is achievable today through Project Plan B’s closed loop system which designs and manufactures clothing to be recycled back into fibre grade rPET using their unique technology.

The group will be asked to identify key agenda items ahead of the meeting, which will take place virtually.

This is for strictly for members only, please register in advance.
