A climate action transition plan sets out how an organisation will adapt its operations, assets and overall strategy to meet science-based climate goals. With many organisations now developing (or wanting to learn more about) Climate Action Transition Plans, this session allowed members to ask questions and share approaches in this emerging and key area.
Mark Ashe (National Trust) started the session by providing an overview of the recently launched National Trust Climate Action Transition Plan.
‘As part of the National Trust’s commitment to be carbon net zero by 2030, and our wider climate action strategy, the organisation is publishing our first ever climate action Transition Plan. Transition Plans are becoming an increasingly important tool and resource for organisations to communicate the detail behind their climate action targets and ambition. We are delighted to join a Fit for the Future Network session to chat through the key messages within our plan and to share our learnings and challenges along this process’ Mark Ashe (National Trust).
Mark’s presentation was followed by a panel discussion with Lizzy Carlyle (Head of Climate & Environment) and Zach Lewis (Senior National Specialist, Low Carbon) from the National Trust. Many thanks to everyone who cane along, asked questions and joined in the discussion.
Don’t worry if you missed the session, you can watch the recording and access the slides in your members area.
If you are developing a Climate Action Transition Plan (or are thinking of doing so) and would like to ask a question or maybe share your ambitions and/or approaches please get in touch with the Fit for the Future team, we would love to hear from you and get you involved in future sessions on this topic.
